25 things before I'm twenty-five

Today, I am twenty-four. and today I decided to re-start my blog. This year I managed to do so many things, mentally aiding, life-changing things. It should have been enough to kick-start me into a positive whirlwind. Instead I was at a standstill by October, my duvet and the four walls that surround it became my refuge before the winter blues aided my need to stay at home. For sure, I travelled like no-one else I know, each destination was new and unforgettable and I don't regret leaving my job to experience it all. But every time, I came home to a very slow lifestyle, I haven't managed to do much with my time off - with my photos, my videos, my stories. I'm living such an unproductive life, inspired without motivation. I'm going to (i hope to) start again this year, one of the best ways is a list right? ____________________________ 25 things before I'm twenty-five 1. Start blogging - travels, experiences, reviews. Fuck the bullshit media...

These are some of the comments on Rocksound/Alt. Press/Kerrang! about 5SOS/Madden Bros hook up or just 5SOS alone... I constantly read comments by naive people who can’t get over the fact there’s a new band in town, taking the world by storm. They couldn’t give a shit about what these people say about them or about the surprise performance last night in Irvine, Cali., which personally seeing it made me smile from ear to ear, The Madden Brothers/Good Charlotte are a massive influence to 5 Seconds Of Summer.  5SOS have been fortunate enough to have such a force behind to help them get noticed and then write/produce music with their idols. Yes, One Direction have had a massive impact in their careers, they toured with them, but that is it. Throughout the entire tour 5SOS performed their catchy self-written pop/punk/rock influenced tracks, if anything getting more rocky as the year went on. The fans gained may have been a little too nuts and out of the norm for a guitar f...

All Time Low & You Me At Six | O2 Arena 2015

Image
22 Aug 2014 ... "Oh hey mum, You Me At Six  AND  All Time Low are co-headlining the O2 arena..." "Let's get tickets!"  I'd only just bought tickets to see ATL at Wembley the week before the tour announcement and I'd just seen YMAS at T-in The Park in the previous month, but my mum knows how much I adore both bands so wanted to treat me. That was that, on the 28th thanks to pre-sales I got tickets for valentines day. I first saw You Me At Six at Norwich UEA in March 2010, (here's some footage I recorded of The Consequence https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWmdUMiS0KA ) they were touring with their second album Hold Me Down, which is my personal favourite. I still remember the feeling I had when I heard the sirens and search lights were circling the crowd, I can also still picture the moment Max sprayed water over us haha. I first saw All Time Low in February 2012 at Hammersmith Apollo, (here's Do You Want Me Dead from the night...

'Catching fire like kerosene, literally' - 5 Seconds Of Summer | Wembley Arena 2015

Image
It's been approximately 24hrs since I was lying upside down on my sofa slowly updating my Instagram feed with my 5SOS weekend. Of course I has to assure my aesthetic was maintained with every post, like all 'pro' instagrammers. Yesterday, after three days in London I arrived home, exhausted, un-injured but feeling rather proud and suffering with major PCD or PTD (Post Tour Depression) On Sunday, the 14th of June, I saw 5 Seconds Of Summer headline London's Wembley Arena, as part of the European & UK leg of their ' Rock Out With Your Socks Out World Tour' The band sold out three consecutive nights at the iconic venue and I'd managed to nab tickets to both Saturday and Sunday shows. The previous weekend I had travelled across the country to Birmingham catching 5SOS twice at The Barclaycard Arena (I planned on blogging about that weekend, but I guess it just didn't happen) Yet again, 5 Seconds Of Summer have given me two memorable breaks from t...

Feeling: Drained.

I joined a Prince's Trust Team Programe a couple of weeks ago, I was completely unaware of it and what they do, all I knew was it's for people 'like me' and my age. Over the last 6 months I've been trying quite hard, I thought I'd have a job by now, I assume I lack experience. So why not. Right? The idea of the programe is to build up my confidence, fill my CV with new experiences and take part in community/charity projects over 12 weeks.  The first week was much easier and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, it was a get to know eachother week. The others on my programe are from my town & are all having the same trouble as me - we can't get jobs, for a variety of reasons.  On Tuesday, we all went on a 4 day residential. We travelled to Essex to an outdoor team builder activity camp, I didn't know what to expect but it did get a bit crazy and stressful. We had ladder runs every morning at 9.30 - the worst way to wake up, climbing, orienteering ...

'Ollo!

I began this blog April 2012, I believe I didn't blog enough. Over these few years my world has changed, I've felt so low and so high, coming to terms with adulthood. I should have written down how I felt at these points in my life, allowed myself to compare and note down how I over came those low days to be able to have my high happy days. Also to generally write about a good day so I have something to have alongside my photos. I'm creative and imaginative but struggle to explain or write down my ideas, I'm going to make sure I use this blog effectively and improve my confidence. Of course I've already had a 'first post' but this one is about everything I didn't say, for any reader to understand me a little more. 10 facts about me...  My name is Libby, I accept any modification of this - Libs, Liv, Libaroon. I'm Olivia from birth, but it's too elegant for me which is why I prefer Libby. I'm 20... written 'Twen-teen'  Lived i...

10 Years Of Mcfly

Here's a really long post about my favourite band, how they changed my life, inspired me in every way and allowed me to forget all my troubles. I'm going to start from the beginning, July 16th 2004. Mcfly were supporting Busted on tour. This was my first concert, the first time I saw mcfly, I was 9 years old. They were four teenage boys, Tom was turning 19 the next day, Harry and Danny were both 18 and Dougie was 16. Until the split; Busted were my favourite band, luckily mcfly were there to take me on their journey over the rainbow of peace, love, joy, magical ponies and sweet music. I have so much to thank Mcfly for, they gave me some of my bestest friends, some of the greatest memories, the greatest soundtracks to summer. They truly became a huge part in my life in 2011, the exam period. I'm not an easy learner, I can't digest information very quickly or well, as I'm dyslexic. I was afraid of my GCSE's, I didn't want to do them. One of my first exam...
